Beating the plexiglass

Young fans (and old) beat the plexiglass during hockey warm-ups as a sign of support and adoration for their stars. If you are lucky, the respect is mutual and the fans are rewarded with ice hockey pucks thrown by the players.
Very much a right of passage.
A sure way to get a sore hand!
