Named after Councilor Herbert Ballam MBE who died in 1998 aged 87.
A great shot of this Mersey tug !!

@Anthony Lambert: Thanks Ant...you certainly know your boats! I hadn't realised the history so you made me look...
Herbert served as a Poole Councillor from 1949 to 1995, representing Wallisdown for most of that time.
He was Mayor of Poole in 1963-64 and 1992-93. In his lifetime, Herbert served as a Harbour Commissionaire for more than 40 years, hence the tugboat named after him. He was also given the very rare honour of becoming a ‘Freeman of the Borough of Poole’, and received an MBE for services to industry.

I like the way the mooring leads the eye to the Tug and the limited colour palette emphasises the yellow bollard and the yellow on the boat, tying the two together. Dramatic perspective in the sky too.

An exceptional capture with wonderful colors. I love the bright yellow. I wouldn't have known it was HDR if I hadn't read it, which is a compliment. It's subtle and superb.

@sherri: Thanks Sherri...I get a phobic sometimes as HDR can create cartoon-like effects, but at its best it drags out so much more detail and tone.

Wow another great shot. I like the clouds and how the "line" of the clouds and the mooring line kind of match up. THis is an HDR?
