Staying with statues...Caerphilly County Borough Council recently erected a statue to commemorate the Chartist movements historic links with the town of Blackwood:

In the distance you can see the Chartist Bridge or Pont y siartwyr in Welsh and which dominates the Sirhowy Valley.
