Trams of the World...Blackpool

Transport can identify and individualise a city in a very functional way like no brightly painted plastic cows or moose seems to achieve. So in an occasional series of images of trams and trolley buses of the world I also give you Blackpool, England!

A nice shot, Ted. The wide-angle makes the train appear as if falling from the tracks :-)

I like the composition of this, especially the way the brick laid path (if it is actually a path) on the left hand side of the photo runs straight into the distance. If it wasn't for the car it would also have an intriguing timelessness about it too. Great photo.

@Mike: Thanks Mike...you're right the car is an unwelcome intrusion...and by time you see the things that annoy you in the photo it's too late. There is a lesson for me there...not to rush the shot or rush away from the shot before checking you've really got the shot you want.

@danthro: Many thanks...I'm not sure whether you mean the effect of the wide angle lens (which allows you to get much closer than you could ordinarily) PP...includes some HDR tone mapping with redynamix.
